How to Vote
Voting in Guelph's municipal election is simple - you don't need to be an expert on local politics to take part.
Who You Vote For
- 1 Mayor
- Ward 6 City Councillors - you may vote for up to 2 candidates
- You do not need to fill all selections for your ballot to count.
When to Vote
- Election Day: October 26, 2026 - 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
- Advance Voting: October 10–18, 2026
- 💡 Tip: Advance voting is a great option if you want to avoid lineups.
Where to Vote
- You can vote at your assigned voting location within Ward 6 or at City Hall.
- Your voting location is based on your home address.
- You will receive a voter information card in the mail with your location.
- You can also check your voting location on the City of Guelph election website.
What to Bring
- Government-issued ID with your name and address.
- Or other accepted identification if you don't have photo ID.
- You do not need your voter card to vote, but it can make the process faster.

You can vote if you are:
- A Canadian citizen
- 18 years of age or older on Election Day
- A resident, or eligible property owner in Guelph
